How do I get “internet calls” on my landline? Calls are costing me a bomb!!

Been with Sky for just a year! Try to use my free calls on the Lebara mobile account as much as possible but sometimes the signal drops so I have to us the landline. All the bills

have calls charged! Yet I read that "Internet calls" are free. What am I doing wrong?

@Hollo4  Unless you have a paid calls package all calls are chargeable despite being classed as Internet calls or VOIP,  Sky don't provide you with free calls.   http://www.sky.com/shop/terms-conditions/talk/code-of-practice/tariff-guide/

Misleadingly, it's the provision of the service which is free. Any calls you make are chargeable. There are call packages available for a monthly subscription, but as you don't use your landline often, they're probably not of good value for you.

Oh! Thanks for the information, I have a line on my bills for Internet calls zero charge which I assumed I needed to access. Oh well another reason to ditch Sky then!!

@Hollo4  Just to be aware moving to any other provider won't get you free calls either, all ISP's will have call charges either Pay as you go or a calls package of some sort where you pay a monthly fee.

As @GD1 indicates, ISPs are understandably reluctant to give up a significant source of income.

Note that VOIP isn't 'free' for an ISP unless it's entirely based on terrestrial broadband from end to end (and, technically, they have a peering arrangement all the way).  Any time a voice connection hits an analogue phone line or cellular link there's a potential cost to the provider.
