Home phone, check phone line

There's been a recent spate of -10 weather (North Scotland) and now the temps have risen and everything currently thawing. 

My home phone handsets are saying "check phone line"  I've done all the usual wee bits but to no avail.

Broadband etc working fine.

 

Could it be the weather has affected it or something else?

It might conceivably be weather related. Does your phone plug into your broadband Hub, or a wall socket? Has your landlione with Sky been working ok up to now?

Thank you for your reply. Plugged directly into master socket. Yep no problems til now.

@Ladyboxer try Sky service checker here first, in case there's a known outage in your area: https://servicestatus.sky.com/#/uk/issues

 

If not, try the simple connection test here next: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/broadband-diagnostic-start

 

It may not detect a fault if your broadband is ok, but it's easy to do, so worth a try.

 

Let us know how you get on with both.
