Had optic fibre installed this morning. Got two green lights, one blinking. No phone available. But
I have had optic fibre installed this morning, the box on the inside has two permanent green lights and one flashing. I cannot use the phone as it doesn't work to call Sky. The other problem is who is going to remove the redundant cable from the telegraph pole in the alley to the bungalow. The Quinn engineer stated it was not his job.Poor delivery of service that needs sorting

Your phone should be plugged into your broadband Hub (not the ONT). It may take 24 hours or so for the phone service to fully activate.
Openreach may at some point remove the overhead cable.

That's correct: redundant copper drop cable is not currently being removed by Openreach or its subcontractors, largely because it doesn't contain enough weight as scrap to justify the time this would take.
