Yes, I understand that however sky , who our contracts are with have done zero to explain their process to their customers.

Re: Fibre just installed earlier today - but landline not working yet
Hello,
I had mine installed 10 days ago, firstly no phone so did all the restarts and it started working, but after a day it stopped, did all the restarts again and again it started working but off again. Don't want to have to constantly restart the hub to make my phone work. Any advice.
Jemma

@Jemzy do you have a white 'Max' Hub, or a black one? If it's a black Hub, is the Voice LED on the front panel lit? Green or amber?

Its the black one and yes the voice LED is green, it wasn't to start with but after the first restart it came on and I had dialling tone. But now the situation is green light on but no dial tone and no phone working.

I suspect if you were to report it to Sky at this stage that they would simply suggest another restart. If it were me, I'd do the restart and make a note of the date etc, so that if it the same thing continues to happen you can report a pattern of failures and recovery.

Re: Fibre just installed earlier today - but landline not working yet
Fibre installed 4 days ago. Engineer told us we needed a booster for the landline to work, and to ring SKY who would supply.
Spoke to them today. And guess what - they didn't know what I was speaking about. They did offer me £15 towards the cost of something to make it work, but they couldn't tell me what product to shop for.
I am fed up of trying to sort this myself. Why can't SKY or OPENREACH send an engineer with the correct equipment and who will stay until it is working. Or at least provide a telephone number we can speak to.
I am sadly disappointed with the service.
Any suggestions?

@AMJH there's no booster for Sky's landline service, which I imagine is why Sky didn't know what you were referring to.You simply need to plug your phone into the physical socket at the rear of your broadband Hub.
If you're trying to use a BT phone designed for use with BT's Digital Voice service, it's not compatible with Sky's landline service (or any other provider's service). You need a standard corded or cordless DECT phone.
