Changing to Sky from EE, need to secure my home phone number.

I've been having issues with my EE broadband which have in a way been resolved, they are releasing me from my contract with them, without charge, it's a long and stressful nightmare of a situation but in a way it's be solved, the issue is, on their system I'm still under contract and their solution would result in me losing my home phone number, so I want to switch to sky, can sky do that as I'm still currently(until Saturday when it's finalised) in a contract with EE, I have requested the notes from my EE account that hopefully prove I'm being released.

In short, can I begin getting sky broadband and have them contact EE to get my home phone number.

@Kirobers Welcome to this customer Community!

Sky can start the process whether or not you're in contract - you would have to deal with BT/EE in relation to any termination charges applied (though bear in mind Sky will credit you up to £100 for early termination charges levied by another provider).

As to keeping your telephone number, whether in contract or not, that's not guaranteed, I'm afraid.

Perhaps be aware that if this because they cannot deliver a quoted speed over (dodgy) copper then any other ISP will inherit the same problem unless the area now has FTTP available.

I managed to get through on the phone to Sky, EE have waved my early exit fee as the problem was unfixable after multiple engineers and Sky has informed me my number should be safe.

The issue was WiFi related and following 2 engineer visits and countless factory resets, a new hub, etc, it was unresolved hence why they've dropped my contract without an exit fee, I'm in an FTTP area and never had and drop outs or speed issues thankfully.
