Change the SKY landline telephone number

Morning, I'm wondering if anyone can help me with my enquiry please?  A friend of mine who has Sky landline and broadband was getting nuisance telephone calls and they got through to Sky customer service who arranged to change their telephone number, with no problems.. but on the communities section of Sky, some people have said that you can't change your landline number,  when my mate has done... does anyone know have any possible answers for this? As in, can you change it or can't you? If Sky won't allow a customer to change their landline number, does anyone know why this would be please, especially if the Sky customer was and is willing to pay to change the landline number?  Thank You 😊

To my knowledge Sky won't permit a change of number solely because of nuisance calls. Nuisance calls are rife and they would be inundated with requests to do so if they allowed it.

Sky do allow change of number if a customer is receiving threatening or abusive calls which they have reported to the Police.

@Mark39 is correct. Payment doesn't come into it. If you are receiving nuisance calls you could use Sky Talk Shield or a phone with call blocking. If it has involved threats and has been reported to the police (with a reference number being allocated) give Sky a call.
