BT2200 Cordless phone

Hello All

I've tried using one of these cordless phones with no joy. No dial tone/ can't make or receive calls.

Broadband/internet all Ok.

Does this set not work with Sky? Tried Googling and I see a few posts about BT branded phones not being compatible.

Has your Sky phone seevice worked before? Are you plugging your phone into your broadband Hub?

Yes worked before on an old Panasonic handset which I no longer have.

I have the phone bit plugged into a microfilter type box on wall where the router is also plugged in.

Just to check - does your broadband Hub have an LED on the front panel labelled 'Voice' and is it lit?

No, no VOICE light on front.

Just three lights on this hub

power,,internet and wireless.

BT 'Digital Voice' phones only work with BT Broadband, but the BT2200 is not one of those.

so this one should just plug and play assuming the line is good?

I've done the checks and there appear to be no faults on the line.

@NBxxxx  This phone has worked before okay? I have this phone myself and it is simple plug and play. Are the two end of the cable that you plug into the phone and also into the filter the same or different?

I bought this one as my old Panasonic was ancient.

I've powered up and plugged 'phone' end into my master filter socket which also has the broadband cable.  No dial tone whatsoever. I've tried in other phone sockets without the split filter to no avail.

I'm tempted to return as it may be faulty.

Ps one end into phone is the small size type connector and the phone end is the white 2cm  x  1cm type push in fitting

@NBxxxx  Have you tried the phone at another property as it does sound like it is faulty.

I'll just return ant another non BT branded 😉
