I have had two engineer visits and nothing has been done in order for me to receive the service I am paying for.
I had an engineer visit on the 17th March - they had advised that they would need permission to fit the socket and fit a double cabling socket into the property.
I had received this permission from the council - advising sky does not require permission from them to do the job/change?
I had an engineer visit today, he said they cant do the job because they do not carry this socket, thats the councils job to change the socket in order for them to this as we are paying this service

If it's Sky Q it can be a bit more complex.

@GD1 yep I have sky HD + I'm not receiving the full service because I cannot change between channels when one specific is put on record. I have to stay on that chanel to record the program

Sky cannot and will not do any upgrades on a system they have no ownership of.

Sky don't touch communal setups they can only screw cables into existing sockets, the people who maintain your communal dish are the ones you need to get a dual socket fitted by if this is even possible
For communal Dish setups take a look at the information in the link below:

I have contacted the council, they said they don't change this? And sky do? Everyone is giving me different information

The council are wrong and are the only ones giving the incorrect information 😞

@Annie+UK is right. This is not a Sky issue. The council is responsible for all parts of their communal satellite system, including providing an additional feed cable if you only have one.

@Mark39 yes I agree as well, it makes more sense as it is a communal set up. There are not willing to do it and they're are blaming sky that they don't require permission? To do the job

Unfortunately whether Sky have permission or not, they won't install the additional cable you need, I'm afraid.
