you are missing the point, I wanted to watch the game with my grandchildren, on a TV not a phone or tablet, at NO POINT have sky said my box was not compatable to do this, I pay them a lot of money , and all the ADS have siad, FREE to all sky sports subscribers, I have been for over 25 years.........its a disgrace

It clearly states that it is not available for SKY+HD boxes as they do not have the software to cope.You need to upgrade to Q or Glass.It was in all the literature when SKY+ SPORT was first advertised which you did not read clearly.Perhaps you should direct your rant directly to Sky and see what their response is.It does not cost much more to change to Glass but need to have the Ultimate TV package and the full Sky Sports subscription.Sky+ Sports does not cost anymore

Sky,s main priority is to no longer offer support to +HD customers and to upgrade them to Q or Glass at little or no additional cost.

If you do not want to watch on the app which many people do not then I suggest you discuss with Sky your options moving forward.

Once live, Sky Sports+ will simply drop into the existing Sky experience, across Sky Glass, Sky Stream, Sky Q, and NOW.

Putting aside the issues which seem to exist even if you have Sky Q (ability to record / lack of catch up) I think Sky could have handled this much better for the Sky+ customers, particulalry if there are as many of us as is being noted above.

I think they should have told Sky+ customers that either now or very soon one or more of the following would apply (assuming they are all technically possible which I would expect)

1. There is  / will be a version of the App that runs on Windows or Macs so that at least sports can be seen on a reasonable sized screen. After all this exists for Sky Go.  If they did do that then taking away the rather petty block on casting to your TV would also be welcome.
2. There is / will be a version of the App that runs on smart TVs. For me this would be the ideal solution.
3. The streamed content would also be available via the traditional online website.

Personally, unfortunately,  I just don't think any of these options are remotely likely

As an aside I know SKY HD customers are long term customers and SKY HD boxes have been / are trusty work horses but we have face reality that any customers who remain on them will continue to find newer features may  not availble to them  via their TV unless they switch to Q or Stream

All Tech has a finite life span - even SKY Q will be defunct by the end of the decade when the Satellites come to their end of life as fuel is used up.

The new Sky Sports+ offering is the biggest piece of misleading advertising that Sky has ever done. Nowhere was it made clear that Sky HD+ customers would not be able to access the choice of games. This is a betrayal of loyal customers by Sky and also a betrayal by the EFL.

Please Note: Sky+ is now a legacy service that Sky are replacing with their newer services: Sky Q (all issues will be fixed during a Sky Q install), Sky Glass and Sky Stream

The move to newer services is fine. However, my angst is about Sky's complete lack of transparency about the new service not being available to over 3 million loyal Sky customers who as a consequence also lost access to the ability to follow their football team live as iFollow has been jettisoned by the EFL.

Sky are showing some degree of loyalty by allowing subscriptions to continue on unsupported hardware🤔

Access to Sky Sports+ without entertainment is currently available for £20 to  NOWTV subscribers😉

you can stream the extra games via sky sports mobile app on phones and tablets but not pcs laptops or macs
