Hi, I've been with Sky for over two decades. I have a Sky+HD box, the old Variety pack, Sky+HD pack and get Sky F1 as a free legacy entitlement. I mainly watch motorsports so apart from SkyF1 my most viewed channels are Eurosport 1 and 2 for things like British Superbikes, World Superbikes, World Endurance Championship, Dakar rally etc.
I've now read that Eurosport is being closed down in the U.K. from Feb 28th and the content I watch will only be available on TNT Sports at £30 per month! I really don't want to have to pay this but unless ITV4 or Quest are going to show highlights I might have to bite the bullet.
My question is - if I add TNT sports to my package will I be able to record the programmes to my Sky+HD box to watch later or can you only watch races etc. live?
I don't want Sky Q or Glass but might be interested in Sky Stream although I am concerned my broadband speed may not be fast enough (I'm with Sky for my broadband - average 30-35 mbps)
Thanks.

I am in the same position here with the same equipment and I wonder what the alternatives could be. I also never watch motorcycle racing live and therefore being able to record it is very important to me.
I would like to know what the full situation is.

I don't subscribe to TNT nor do I now have a SKY HD box but AFAIK the HD boxes do have the TNT linear channels which can be recorded like othe channels
TNT sports may have other sports content availble via the internet which of course SKY HD doesn't have- this is available on other devices via the Discovery Premium app but I have a feeling that set up of the Discover Plus account may be restricted to SKY Q/Glass/Stream customers
Not too sure if this helps fully:

As long as they are broadcast on the linear TNT Sport channels, then, Yes you can record them.

Thanks @Mark39 , I emailed them as you suggested and had a reply - see below

Thanks all for the replies. As suggested I emailed viewer relations. They replied to confirm that, as some of you suggested, " if the content is on the live linear channels i.e TNT sports 1, Quest etc you will be able to record" , however they go on to say "not all content will be on the linear channels and is only available on the Discovery + App, which your box does not support." Now from what I have read Discovery+ is also disappearing.
At the moment I'm going to sit and wait until nearer the cut off date before deciding, I don't want to sign up and then find I can't record the live races .
One other thing - I mentioned in my original post and the email to viewer relations that I have what on My Sky "Your Products" is described as Legacy F1 Entitlement. Viewer relations say "Its also worth noting and setting the correct expectations Sky Sports F1 Legacy pack is not an "entitlement" and can be changed at any time as these packages no longer exist." All I can say is if they take that away from me I'll be cancelling my Sky subscription. I already begrudge paying £42 per month for something I hardly use.

Re the F1 package
@@ I think the key is that anytime you make any sort of change to your subscription it may disappear depending on how the agent processes it. You should certainly ask for it keeping whenever you discuss changing to your subscriptio

That's not correct: from February 28th the version of Discovery+ bundled with a Sky subscription is moving from the current 'Standard' tier to 'Basic', which has no sports content.

If TNT Sport doesn't increase its linear channels (as I read) then the various live sports from Eurosport are likely to force many existing niche sports onto the red button or Discovery + and can't be recorded...
