There is a problem with your Hard Disk Drive Recordings, On Demand and other services are not availa

Any clues how to fix this error please ? 
tried the usual switching on off removing card etc . Also tried to 'rebuild' but response is The Planner cannot be rebuilt in Diskless Mode

You could try a full System Reset, from the same menu as you used for a Planner Rebuild. If you get the same 'diskless mode'  message, it indicates  that your Sky box's hard disk has failed. Unfortunately Sky won't repair and no longer allow Sky+ equipment to be replaced, so your options are to upgrade to Sky Q or Sky Stream.
