TV is unable to find a wireless network- unable to connect and use catch up

Hello

for weeks now we have been unable to connect our tv to our wireless network 

when we search on th tv to connect the message on Screen says 

No wireless networks found

the router is approx 6 metres away in the same room

does anyone have any ideas that may help please

Use an Ethernet cable, this is more reliable than Wi-Fi

6 meters should be no problem take a look on amazon etc...
