Sky sports and movies no longer available on my multiroom HD+ boxes

Hi - am I being bluffed?

I am a long term Sky + HD multi room customer. 3 boxes. Boxes 2 &3  stopped being able to access the premium channels subscribed to and display contact Sky to upgrade to receive them. Box 1 has all access ok. Spoke with a very nice chap yesterday who noted my multiroom subscription had stopped in April and he could reinstate it (and the appropriate fee). Sounded good until after trying to do so and speaking with his manager he told me that the age of those boxes means Sky no longer support them and they cannot be put back onto multiroom. The the only solutions are Sky Go or buy a Glass TV and pucks- neither are solutions I want.

Seems strange so any help and advice appreciated.

Thanks

Your Multiscreen subscription should only have ended if you cancelled it, so I'm unclear why it would have simply stopped.. Unfortunately Sky are no longer allowing new Multiscreen subscriptions on the basis that Sky+ is a legacy product that they're withdrawing support for.

As well as Sky Streaming pucks and Sky Glass, both of which are streaming services, Sky are still offering Sky Q, which is a satellite service more akin to Sky+.

Thanks for quick reply Mark. That's annoying. I didn't cancel. The only thing I can think of is we were going to move to sky q from Sky + HD multiroom. One Maine q plus 2 other rooms but when the engineers came out they said the distances were too great and wallls too thick (its a big old house) for them to mesh and also the wiring is a mess so power lines have never worked.  We agreed I should stay with the HD multi-room

We have a ubiquity Wi-Fi mesh system but I know Q needs to mesh itself.

Yes, that would have done it, unfortunately. It looks like Sky Stream is your remaining option, then, but unless they're hardwired by ethernet cable the Pucks also need a good, stable WiFi to work reliably which might be challenging from what you say.

Ok thanks again. Can probably get two rooms connected neatly by ethernet.
