Sky sports Golf

Dreadful technical difficulties with Sky Sports Golf, picture and sound interruptions. All other channels working fine so not a dish or signal issue. Can't get hold of anyone to discuss the issue with to get it fixed. I need someone to talk to to fix it.

done the usual turn it off and reboot but still having problems. If this continues I will cancel my subscription!

What sort of technical difficulties? Error message? What's the problem with contacting Sky?

@Mike360  If you have Sky+ where you have posted Sky won't come out to sort your dish as they no longer support Sky+/Sky+HD boxes.

In addition channels use different transponders, Sky Sports Golf SD & HD are on a weaker European beam so any misalignment will show on these channels 1st.

Re: Sky sports Golf

Hasn't been a problem until yesterday/today. Picture and sound interruptions looks like signal interference and problem is intermittent but persistent.

if it were signal surely other channels would be affected ? no other channel is affected.

why can't I speak to someone from sky?

if Sky can't assist directly why al I paying so much for the service.

perhaps I should simply move to purchase channels via now TV cheaper

@Mike360  As already explained, not all channels will be affected.

See also reference to Sky+HD non support, what you pay in TV subs is irrelevant as the box is a legacy product.

If you wish to continue viewing via satellite then you'll need to upgrade to Sky Q.

You can call on 150 from a Sky Talk Line or Sky Mobile.

If you haven't got a current Sky Mobile or Sky Talk this link should help:
(UK) https://www.sky.com/help/home Scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a 0333 number
(ROI) on the same link change the flag in the very bottom corner to the ROI flag to obtain an 0818 number.

Stay on the line and don’t hang up if prompted to. Apparently the quieter times to ring are just after 7am or about 9pm.

Thank you for your help

Seems like I'm being asked to pay for a service and equipment which is as you say a legacy🙄

Customers with legacy equipment were offered a route to upgrade for free months ago.  This was sent by email or letter.

Re: Sky sports Golf

Still don't understand why I'm paying for a service which is not supported.

Well it's up to you. You could upgrade to Sky Q which is the currently supported satellite system.

Any deficiencies with your dish etc will be put right at no extra cost to you as part of the installation.

You're still getting the TV channels you paid for, you have the option to move to Sky Q but have so far not done so.

It's very common for dish issues to start with problems on just a few channels. While you have only noticed the problem on Sky Sports Golf there will be a few other channels affected too, exactly which ones depends on if you're watching in HD or SD, and whether you're in the UK or Ireland.
