Sky + remote and Sony TV volume

My new Sky remote is connected and changes channels etc. I can't pair it to the TV to change volume, any ideas?

I got to stage 5, then nothing.

The remote works on the EPG but doesn't control the TV functions like volume.

If you've repeated step 5 multiple times (couple of hundred or more) and your TV doesn't turn off, there's no suitable code on your Sky remote model compatible with your tv.

Code 1679 works for my SONY Bravia.

It is connected to the TV as it turns off and on.

Volume doesn't work from TV control.

Any ideas?

It's an out of the box new remote.

Two possibilities:

1. The code you've programmed only controls the tv's power on/off

2. Switching the tv on and off is being achieved by your Sky box's HDMI Control function, which I'm guessing it enabled, rather than any programmed code

The thing is I didn't get to input s code at any stage.

If there's no programmed code, the switching and an off of your tv must be via HDMI Control.

Any idea how to reprogramme the remote to enable it work in full?
