That's exactly what I already do and have done again today when I cancelled today's entry on my planner. It doesn't make any difference.
It's the fact that these steps don't work, when they do for other programmes, that's causing the problem.

That doesn't work either. I've done that a few times. It just keeps reappearing all on its own.

Very strange. That is how it should work so I guess there is indeed a weird bug on the R022 software 🤔
Also doesn't help that the stupid series link records every series there is instead of linking to a specific series. I did set up a recording for this and it records series 2,3,4,5 6,7 and is the most stupid series link ever created.

I know. Not only that, but when a series (of anything) ends and the programme stays in my planner schedule as 'next series', it never ever manages to notice or pick up when a new series actually starts. It's a waste of time it being there.

@Molehill my last reply related to a message that seems to have been deleted.
I share your frustration as it just keeps coming back on my planner as well. Nothing at all stops it.

I'm guessing that post went in the spam filter as it contained a few numbers. All of my posts will probably end up in there now, including this one.

Ianpaul everyone complaining about this had tried deleting catfish multiple times just as you suggest but whatever we do it just keeps coming back - that's why this thread is getting longer and longer as more join - it's just so frustrating and Sky seem unable to provide a solution.

The point is - no one deliberately infected the box - it does it all on its own and thats why we can't get rid of it! Don't be so smug! I agree as well that the series link for the next series of anything else doesn't work anymore- except on catfish ofcourse!

The box does not do it on its own as there are many 1,00's of customers, me included, that don't have the catfish issue
Unless you trigger the issue by some way, like @Anonymous did, you'll not have a problem
I don't see anyone being smug 🙁

It's when you have set it to record future episodes of cat fish and then it won't let you delete or remove series link. @@Annie + UK

Hi there,
Our tech teams have looked into this and isolated the issue to a bug in the current Sky+ HD R022 software.
A fix has now been found and it will be implemented in the next software release R023 going live in spring 2020.
Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

I'm sure the people that have never heard of catfish who have the same problem will be interested to know what they did to trigger this problem themselves. Another unnecessary smug reply blaming the people with the problem for triggering it themselves!

Yes it's a shame people aren't accepting that a) this isn't our fault and b) we do know how to remove a series link and delete something from our planners. It's bad enough that it's happening without the implication that we're bringing it on ourselves!
