Sky hd box no satellite signal

Hi I've been watching the Freeview on an old sky hd box and now it's gone off saying no satellite signal, I loved the basic layout of sky

Does anyone know what's going on, as I've read a few posts they are moving on from the sky hd & sky hd+ boxes and turning the signal off

Sky+HD boxes aren't being switched off. The older Sky+ boxes, however, will soon be unable receive the transmitted signal. 

Either there's a fault with your Sky box, or more likely a problem with your dish setup. You'll need to engage a local satellite installer to come,out and take a look.

Thankyou, the weird thing is

I took the box from downstairs which was working  and put it upstairs and it didn't work, so took it back down and now that doesn't work 🙈

Check the cable connector. It's very easy to bend the centre pin (actually it's just the inner wire of the coax cable). If the centre pin isn't straight use,a screwdriver or something similar,ilar to carefully bend it back into position.

I've just been downstairs and the downstairs sky box is working it's a sky + hd

But the one upstairs is a sky hd box 

Bothon different cables

So I think it may be the outside connector which might have failed

Yes, could be the connector at the dish end. Or a fault with the cable, or a fault with the LNB (the bit on the arm of the dish) port the upstairs box is connected to.

Thankyou the dish has been up at least 15 years

When I did have sky installed he just used the same dish

I'm going to contact a satellite guy to check it over.
