I just checked again after changing DNS yesterday on router and still all ok, tried BBC, UK Gold, U and Paramount Plus all ok no lag or failures

After rebooting my Sky box and router, I have successfully downloaded 2 programs. But I think the "Advanced Security" network control on my Eero is affecting my results.

Further experimenting using https://www.top10vpn.com/tools/what-is-my-dns-server/ on my iPad and disconnecting/re-connecting WiFi (to force my iPad to re-evaluate its DNS for my network) after turning Advanced Security off and on shows that my Eero will only use my custom 1.0.0.1 DNS configuration when Advanced Security is off.

So I was wrong in my earlier post claiming the problem had re-occurred for me. I had inadvertently reverted back to using TalkTalk's DNS server by turning Advanced Security in my Eero app back on last night. Sorry for the false alarm! But I have at least shown that TalkTalk is still sending my traffic to a CDN that is blocking me and switching to 1.0.0.1 is still a workaround.

Re: Sky catchup unusable

Geoff great update as ever, I have been stable using 1.1.1.1 primary and 1.0.0.1 secondary DNS on router I still IPv4 due to my area being legacy ADSL once coverage extends will change over.

AnnieUK advice has fixed me  ormslly if use google DNS which probably will work also

i only tested to ensure it was still working  I'm glad to resolved same as when you thought it reoccurred I was having a sqeaky bum moment to be honest in think I'll just keep my router DNS as is now with Cloudshare oh and my advanced security is turned off alsi

@Geering1993 and anyone else who, so far, hasn't been confident enough to change anything on the Sky+ Box.

Here's what I did

Press Services and navigate to Settings then Network.

Press Down Arrow (this brings up the option to press Green for Manual IP Configuration)

Press Green

Take a photo of this screen so that you can always go back if it goes wrong.

The only entry I changed was DNS.

Press Down Arrow 3 times to get to DNS (mine said 79.79.79.79)

Press 1 Right Arrow 0 Right Arrow 0 Right Arrow 1 (to change it to 1.0.0.1)

Press Green to Save

Press Sky and try a Download.

Re: Sky catchup unusable

Ojo1 - what a thoughtful post for us non-techies!  It's a shame Ive already entered 1.0.0.1 to no avail, but thank you for explaining things so succinctly 😊

Re: Sky catchup unusable

Annie - you'll be pleased to know that I have pressed the red button and things are back to the way they were - the WPS button didn't help but entering the WiFi password did.  Thanks for your patience.

Trouble Downloading box sets

I have a sky + box. I can record a program but all of a sudden downloading from box sets has stopped working.

Download issues

I have 3 old hd boxes in the house. None of them will download anything. They will record still. I cannot watch anything from the purchased list either. Internet is fine. I have tried turning off the router and my sky box and then rebooting. Sky box reconnects and I can view my purchased list and everything that's on demand but I cannot download anything. I have also tried in sd as well but it's the same

@1234wer

I have moved your post into the Sky+ thread discussing this. There's also a similar thread on the Sky Q board. Sky are aware of these issues.

Re: SKY+ HD DOWNLOADS

If you're on TALK TALK and have an eero router go into network controls and turn advanced security off ! Downloads work instantly !! Think talk talk deem skys download address as a dangerous site
