Good workaround..

shocking that it takes the customers to find a temp solution. The amount of money we plough into sky it should be them fixing it.  Its been going on since sky Q came about.

2019 is the earliest post on the issue and its still going on..

@callyboi  yet when I spoke to Sky several weeks ago the advisor told me they were not aware of the problem. Well if it's happening on Sky Q boxes aswell at least they can't blame the issue on it been the older Sky + HD platform because almost every time I contact them they try and talk me into having a Q box

From what I have read the problem started with sky Q boxes. My sky + box has only started doing it a few weeks ago so I bought another box and it dropped out like my original one.  Deffo a signal issue. Only happens on certain channels.

Yes I have only had this problem for the past 3 weeks approximately and it's still happening on Sky Witness and National Geographic channels when watching live and includes the adverts. 
Really cannot understand why Sky cannot resolve this problem.

I watched Sky Witness last Thursday and Friday evening and National Geographic Wild this morning and the sound was fine and did not cut out once so hoping this continues and the problem has finally been fixed.

As of 1900Hrs on Thursday 10th November - this is still happening on the Sky Witness chanel

The symptoms are exactly the same when a really bad storm affects SKY

Today Thursday 10 November just watched FBI at 9pm and FBI International at 10pm on Sky Witness and had no issues with sound cutting out.  Also watched Ice Road Rescue at 8pm on National Geographic and again no issues with sound which I had experienced with this channel previously.   So my sound issues seem to have been resolved for now.

@HungryBear @Kirsty+S27 same here. I watched SKY Witness last night at 9 pm and am doing the same right now without any issues. Fingers crossed it appears ok for now.

As Yorkyman55 said I also watched Sky Witness last night at 9pm and the previous night and there were no sound issues so hopefully the problem has now been resolved.

I'm having exactly the same problem as others like @Yorkyman55  and @HungryBear but seems it fixed for them now (happy for them 🙂 )

I am experiencing sounds drops on HD channels, much worse on ITV 1 HD, and from experience between 9pm and 10pm has been worst. As per my post thought it was my equipment as definitely the original issue was an HDMI extender failure. But now everything replaced and picture is great and consistent but the sound drop is driving me mad....

Thanks for the workaround of playing on live pause a couple of mins behind.

Sorry to hear you are having issues with sound drop out as well.  My problem definitely has been resolved now and I have not had any further issues over the past couple of weeks.  I would have  liked to have know what was causing the problem but Sky have remained silent! Hope you get your problem sorted soon.
