Sky Signature Package

I currently have an older sky package and would like to chance to the signature package (as it is a lot cheaper than what ai am currently paying). I have an older sky plus he box with twin rf outs and no Wi-Fi. I have been told that to get the signature package I need to either get a new version of the HD Plus box or the Qbox. I don't what to chang pe the box as I need multiple RF outputs. Do I really need to change it I am not bothered about Netflix.

The type of box only limits the features you can use and not the package you subscribe to

Re: Sky Signature Package

Will I still be able to pause and record programmes? Also why has Sky told me that I will need to change my Sky plus's box?

Re: Sky Signature Package

I will give Sky a call this week and see if they will switch me to the cheaper signature package whilst  keeping my existing Sky Plus HD box. Just out of interest has anyone done this?

I would recommend not even asking if you can keep your existing Sky box - no point giving them the opportunity to say no. Just tell them you want to switch to the Signature package. Subscription packages are completely independent of the type of hardware you have so your type of Sky box is completely irrelevant.

Although Sky could presumably choose to only provision new instances of Signature on Q either now or in the future.

They'll either tell you Q is a requirement or not: they can't force you to change, although you'll be paying more not to.

@AlanTT Yes, I have the Sky Signature Pack with the same Sky+HD box as you have.

Re: Sky Signature Package

@oj01

Does your Sky box have twin rf outs and Wi-Fi. My box has twin rf outs but no Wi-Fi so not sure if having no Wi-Fi will make a difference?

@AlanTT in terms of switching to the Signature package? No, it makes no difference. It's simply that Signature gives you access to catch up and box sets that you won't be able to use without a broadband connection (ethernet or wifi) to your Sky box.

Mine's the same as yours @AlanTT, no Wi-Fi. I connect via Ethernet although I do also have the old Wi-Fi connector in a drawer somewhere.

As @Mark39 says, the box has no baring on your ability to have the Signature Pack, unfortunately you were badly advised by the 'advisor' you spoke to.
