I have sky+ multiroom. On the multiroom box in my bedroom the day before this happened the picture kept breaking up. Tonight I go to watch today's recordings and they all failed and on screen it says Ther's no satellite signal. Switched it off for a good while and still the same. The day before this I had to phone to get my card paired again (3rd time) as I had no sky channels I pay for.
The box in the living room is fine no issues so how can it be a problem with the dish or LNB if that one is ok? Could it be the box? Asking before I buy a second hand one on ebay.

If the multi room box still exhibits the same issue after swapping them around then it's a box issue, if it works it's likely the cable connection to the multi room box or LNB.
You'll need to book an independent satellite dish company to check the setup in that case as Sky no longer supports Sky+HD setups.

That's because once it's been switched off for a while, it needs a satellite signal to initialize.

That's what I did in the end and during the process the metal end on one of the wire came off so I fixed that and put mine back on and it was all fine.
