Sky+ HD on demand not downloading

I was able to download on demand content to my Sky+HD box earlier today but the downloads are not working working now.

I get the message 'downloading' but nothing progresses - I do not get the % download.  The 'downloading' just sticks and after a few minutes it just disappears.

I am with Virgin Media for broadband.  I have done a planner rebuild, rebooted the Sky box and tried resetting and changing the DNS.

Is anyone else experiencing an issue of able to advise?  Thanks.

Have you tried rebooting your broadband?

When these downloads don't start have you deleted them and should they end up in the deleted folder deleted from there as well before trying again ?

Yes sorry forgot to mention, already rebooted my internet router and also tried to download just the SD rather than HD option.  Still having the same problem.

is it possible my box is on its last legs?
