Sky + HD-no satellite signal yet again
I am honestly so fed up with Sky. I was dusting around my Sky + HD box yesterday and all of a sudden, my TV screen went blue-and then "no satelite signal is found" blah blah blah. I phoned Sky (have spoken to 4-5 different people at Sky since yesterday)-and nobody but nobody was able to help me troubleshoot.
I have checked all cables connected to my Sky + HD box-none of them are loose. My TV works fine, i.e., I can view terrestrial TV, Netflix. Nothing is wrong with the communal sky dish (nobody else has complained).
And since I am not eligible (my building is not) for Sky Q-the next best thing is Sky Stream, however somebody made me aware that you cannot pause a show. So, if you want to leave the room for a minute or few, you can't pause the show you are watching. I have never heard of anything so ridiculous in my life.
I phoned Sky back and try to ascertain whether you can at least rewind a show? They could not tell me, so they're going to email the "stream team" who will get back to me. I had said that when I spoke to the stream team they didn't seem to have a clue what they were talking about.
I am beyond angry at this whole Sky + HD saga-my box had been working well ever since my managing agent had their communal dish serviced 2 months or so ago.
I dare ask, but have any of you upgraded to Sky Stream? and how are you finding it? Can you rewind a show if you need to leave the room for a few minutes?
Beyond despair...in East London:).

Re: Sky + HD-no satellite signal yet again
Loss of satellite signal is almost certainly the result of a problem with your communal dish or the connections from it to your Sky box. The fact that the problem coincided with your working around the Sky box suggests that you may have inadvertently disturbed the dish cable connections to the back of your Sky box.
I switched to Sky Stream shortly after it was launched and while it was somewhat flaky to begin with, I find it very stable now. It does, however rely in reasonably fast and, as important, a stable WiFi connection unless it's connected via ethernet cable to your Hub. Whether or not you can rewind a live stream, I don't know for sure, Many programmes have the option to rewatch from the start. I'll check later whether or not you can rewind after pausing.

Re: Sky + HD-no satellite signal yet again
You can pause on Stream BUT it is limited to about 10 mins🤔
