Re: furious
Sky+ and Sky+HD is not closing down YET. What you can't do is pair your viewing card to an alternative box that it wasn't paired to in October 2024.

Re: Sky+ HD boxes are closing down?
@Glead5674 If you want to keep receiving sky tv services you will need to contact sky and discuss your options about upgrading to either sky Q glass or stream
These are the current methods for contacting Sky…
▪️call by dialling 150 (free) from either a Sky Talk landline or a Sky mobile.
Calls to Sky will start automated which may offer you the online help route (see below) or try to send you here to the forum. Stay on the line as long as possible and saying nothing when asked the reason for the call sometimes helps being put in the queue for an agent.
Note: if your services are restricted due to a missed payment phone contact is unlikely to work.
▪️online help via this link
https://www.sky.com/help
▪️ Sky Assistant is also available at the top of sky.com/help for most service issues and gives you 24/7 help and a quick response. It will provide you with multiple choice options based on your problem and will provide troubleshooting steps to fix any service issues.
▪️Social Media You can also get in touch with Sky via the messaging services on: Facebook, Instagram, or X (links at the bottom of the forum page).

You posted the above on the Sky Q board but earlier you posted on the Sky+ board. I presume you have Sky+ as Sky Q boxes have only been around for about 9 years so I've moved them into the same thread.
You've already been told you can't use a newly acquired Sky+ box.
I'm afraid Sky no longer support Sky+ and Sky+HD set ups. You'll need to employ a local satellite engineer at your own expense to check/repair/replace the dish/LNB if that's the problem.
If you have Sky Protect insurance through Domestic and General Insurance you can call them but a recent post on here stated they wouldn't send an engineer - but they did offer the customer £65 towards arranging one themselves.
The alternative is contacting Sky to upgrade to Sky Q or change to Glass / Stream.
Incidently you aren’t contacting Sky Customer Services on here. This is a customer led discussion forum where Sky customers are available to try to help other customers.

Re: Sky keeps losing signal
@Glead5674 if you want to stick with Sky, give them a call and ask about your options. Of the tv services they currently offer, Sky Q is a satellite service similar to Sky+ but more advanced.
Alternatively Sky Stream is (unsurprisingly) a streaming service which relies on a good Internet connection.
Both Sky Q and Sly Stream boxes are loaned to you, unlike Sky+ boxes, so there's no significant upfront cost.

Sky+ HD was released in 2006 and ceased manufacturing around a decade later.
The previous SD-only boxes ceased to function completely earlier this year, and one from 'over 30 years' would be analogue and obsolete for a very long time.
There are no other companies offering subscription satellite television.
