Recent new sky engineer fitted quad LNB. All cables give a strong signal and tested on a different satellite receiver.

What do you mean by 'won't boot up'? Are you seeing an initialising' message?

Hard drive runs for a few seconds then nothing. Nothing on screen. All connections work with alternate sat box so problem not with tv, cables, lnb, dish cables etc

You could try replacing the HD or just get a replacement second hand Sky+ HD box😉

Yes, it sounds as though the box has failed. You can buy a used, replacement box from ebay etc for around £30. Look for either a DRX890 or DRX895 model as they're the most recent.
