SKY+HD contract ends soon can I use my box with a freesat user card,without having sky subscrip

My Sky essentials basic  lets me record, pause, whatch previously downloaded films ect use Sky planner i can use sky go to select programnes, seems like the one you have is the same as a non subsription package. Some of my programmes are not in HD.

Recently rejoined Sky on the free-to-air TV Essentials package so that I can record/pause again and view my old recordings on my Sky+HD box. Everything works great, except for some reason I am blocked from downloading anything in HD from ITV (SD works fine). No mention of this specific restriction on the website

Does anyone have this working on their HD box, and do you have a normal Sky subscription or TV Essentials only? I wondered if there might be an issue with my viewing card - the number displays correctly in the Settings menu and it is the same paired card and box I used when I had a full subscription.

Some of the free channels still require the HD addon for On Demand downloads, IIRC Ch4 are also one of these

Thanks @Annie+UK . Didn't think the addon would be needed for ITV, only perhaps C4 and C5 according to that link, but yes, you definitely could be right. I'm not even sure if the addon is an option for people on TV Essentials? Only one way to find out I guess...! If anyone else has this working with or without the HD addon, please do let me know!

I have TV essentials basic no HD add on i can watch and record ITV, Chanel 4 & 5 in HD. SKY HD+ box.

Thanks again @robsie . Looks like I can watch and record the same channels as you, but does your box allow you to download ITV programmes in HD, either by searching for a title in the search bar or directly from the Catch Up section? On my box, I can only choose the SD option.
