I have moved to SKY Q but still have a unused SKY+ HD box. I don't have the SKY HD box viewing card anymore. I want to use it as a simple 'freesat' style receiver in aroom that has a lnb feed (I know freesat is a different service). Thus far the box appears to work as a reciever without the card. Question: is this just a matter of the box not updating. meaning that a sky free to air card is required (not sure what they are called now) or will it continue to work without any form of viewing card. Cheers!

for the free channels it will continue to work you dont need a viewing card for free channels thesedays apart from if you want the correct regions but if you happy with the channels you have got now it will be fine
