SKY+ HD Box replacement won’t work with SKY card.

Hard Drive on old SKY+HD failed. Tried the resets suggested. No success.

Then bought a new SKY+HD box from a well known online retailer. New box doesn't recognise my SKY card. 
Tried to contact a human at SKY but couldn't get through their bot defences.

Is there a way I can get the new box to recognise my card?

I'm afraid not @Mike3503 as it has not been possible to pair a viewing card to a different box for a year now so at the very least you would need to upgrade to Sky Q.

Short answer is no.

 

So basically Sky+, being a legacy package, is no longer supported by Sky.

 

You can't pair a viewing card to any other Sky+ / Sky+HD box that it wasn't paired to at the end of October 2024. This has been asked on here and discussed many times since this policy came into effect.

 

You can still call Sky to discuss your options which will be upgrading to Sky Q or moving to Glass / Steam to continue to view Sky content through a Sky subscription.

 

I would suggest returning the box and getting your money back as this must have been mis sold to you.
