Can I watch programmes previously recorded on Sky HD+ box without a dish being connected?

I was told exactly the same, I have a recording of my partner which was televised many years ago. They assured me I could still watch it, now everything has been changed over to sky Q I'm now told it's impossible for me to retrieve my family video. [Removed]
