Pay Once Watch Forever - how do I get an upgrade for HD now that BBC are closing down SD?

Some years ago I purchased Sky's 'Pay Once, Watch Forever' package which for a one of cost gave me a dish & standard Sky box, with access to free satellite channels only.  Now that the BBC are closing down their SD service I need an upgrade to my box to continue viewing in HD. Are Sky going to provide this, or does ''Watch Forever'' not mean what it says? I've tried to ask this question via email but that facility no longer exists.

As a non-subscription customer, I don't know if you're eligible, for the free upgrade offer. Best to give Sky a call - they don't use email as a general means of contact.

If not, you could purchase a used Sky+HD box cheaply from ebay etc

Between 2007 and 2009, according to this page:

I doubt anyone at Sky now remembers such a scheme, and there's almost certainly no provision of replacement hardware for it.   The 'free upgrade' is a no-up-front-cost migration to a Sky Q subscription bundle, not the swap of an SD digibox to a Sky+ HD unit (which haven't been manufactured since 2015).

And I'd imagine in the small print it will state Watch Forever for as long as the channels are broadcast.

Probably the easiest solution is to buy a used Sky+HD box from Cash Converters/eBay/Facebook for about £30
