Our Sky + HD box - when playing a recoridn it plays for a copule of minutes but then goes straight b
Our Sky + HD box - when playing a recoridn it plays for a copule of minutes but then goes straight back onto tv channels keeps doing it.
Is it likely to be the viewing card needs replacing although not had it that long or do i need a new box?
The HD box upstairs works fine but just not the main one. I'm thinking it's more likely to be we need another box?
Have tried twice turning it off by the mains and leaving it but same problem keeps happening.
I put the sky card from this box into the one upstairs and it was ok.

It doesn't sound like a Viewing Card issue, and the fact that the Card works OK with your other box pretty much rules it out as a possibility.
I suspect it's more likely that the hard disk is failing. If so, a replacement Sky box isn't a solution, I'm afraid, as it's no longer possible to pair your Viewing Card with a different box.
You might need to consider upgrading to Sky Q or Stream.

that's odd because i did get anew HD box before and the viewing card worked think your trying to get me to upgrade to q and i dont want to.

@Nusher22 As of 29th October skys policy over replacement hd boxes has changed
you can no longer swap the box and pair your existing viewing card to it
no one is forcing you to upgrade we are just stating the facts

This forum is primarily customer-to-customer help, we don't care if you move to a newer system or not 🙂 I'm sticking with Sky Plus 'till the end 🙂

What on earth would I gain by trying,to get you to upgrade?
As from the end of October this year, you can no longer pair your Viewing Card with a replacement box. You'll still get the,free to air channels but none you subscribe,to.

Hi so what cani do as I dont want to go onto Q. Should i clal an engineer?

Sky won't provide an engineer for Sky+ HD unless the address is covered by an existing Sky Protect policy. Wider support has now ceased.

it's working now, I bought my sky box downstairs to plug in using my own sky card, and exactly the same thing happened it when playing from my recordings it stopped and went back into normal tv, but it worked upstairs , so I think it was te reception/signal and nothing wrong with the box.
