Morning everyone,

I'd like to thank Steve0001, PocketDog, Zeus79, MogwaiSatTV, TM123, Monkeynuts1952 and Rizzers for giving us some details that have helped us look into this a little bit more. We're still seeing reports of download failures so we're looking for some more information from your home network.

I'm going to re-escalate the same users (and any more that would like to help us) back to our Community Messaging team as we're looking for what IP address is returned when you enter adm.sky.com into https://www.nslookup.io/for, you must be connected to your home internet to do this.

Unfortunately we can't take this information in this thread as we need to keep your details safe. Feel free to comment below if you can give us these details and haven't yet spoken to our Community Messaging team.

Re: On demand download failure Sky+ on 2 boxes

Sounds like it is some sort of DNS routing change causing the issue then.

Re: On demand download failure Sky+ on 2 boxes

When I use NSLookup from my pc command line to check adm.sky.com if I run it a few times I am getting 2 different ip addresses that are in 2 different ip ranges back.

Re: On demand download failure Sky+ on 2 boxes

@MogwaiSatTV- maybe somehow, although very odd that @Eddy99 has two boxes in the same house on the same network, same ISP etc and one of them is unaffected?

Re: On demand download failure Sky+ on 2 boxes

Perhaps they are manually configured and are set to different DNS Servers?

Re: On demand download failure Sky+ on 2 boxes

@Chloe-W22  I have  provided the info. via chat to them and also made them aware that when I run it 2 or 3 times it switched between 2 different ip addresses.

Re: On demand download failure Sky+ on 2 boxes

@MogwaiSatTV I am also getting more than 1 address returned when running the nslookup.

I have just completed the advisor chat and have supplied the two addresses.

Re: On demand download failure Sky+ on 2 boxes

Same here. 2 alternating IPv4 addresses for adm.sky.com which are being passed onto the engineering team.

Re: On demand download failure Sky+ on 2 boxes

If I do a reverse DNS look up they report 5ac5be01.bb.sky.com for one of them and 97e7fd81.skybroadband.com for the other ip address and not adm.sky.com

Re: On demand download failure Sky+ on 2 boxes

I have run the NsLookup and also get 2 IPv4 addresses (flipping around across Cloudflare, googledns, opendns checks).

I can pass these on to Sky CM or their engineers when I get messaged (or am I supposed to message them?).
