Old Thomson Sky box 4E0909

Hi, does anyone know if this ancient box is eligible for a free SykQ replacement box?

Providing you have a Sky subscription with it, I would say very likely. Give Sky a call to find out for sure  - tell them you want to upgrade to Sky Q, but don't want/can't afford to pay any extra for doing so.

@pattyf

Be aware that all Q boxes are 'free' (because they are loaned to subscribers). Sky typically aims to get a user moving from Sky+ to Sky Q to add subscription elements and so increase the monthly cost, or else pay up-front fees for installation and activation.  The key is, as @Mark39 indicates, to be very clear that you neither wish to increase your subscription or pay to move platform: it's ultimately in the interest of Sky to facilitate the closure of Sky+ anyway.
