my sky sky +hd box is not receiving a satellite signal. I switched it off to see if rebooting it would help and now can't get any of my recordings either

Find out moreYour signal is likely to be affected if snow lands on the dish, in particular the LNB but should return to normal as soon as the conditions improve. Don't necessarily try to brush it off as accidentally moving the LNB will then necessitate an engineer visit to realign it. As a Sky+ customer that would be at your own expense.
