No sky signal, is this a community wide problem due to the misty weather in Liverpool?

It's likely to be a dish alignment issue. Sky+, now a legacy package, is no longer supported by Sky so although Customer Services may offer advice and troubleshooting, an engineer visit is not an option. You will have to employ a local satellite engineer at your own expense unless you have cover thro Sky Protect.
Call Sky to discuss your options which will be upgrading to Sky Q or moving to Glass / Stream if you wish to continue with a Sky TV subscription.
