Despite the tone of the letter we do not know of any specific plans to switch off the old HD box accounts - although they are clearly trying to get everyone to move
You may wish to read some notes I have made for people considering switching from SKY +/HD to SKY Q

It's the end of BBC transmission in standard definition over satellite which has a fixed date in early January 2024: as noted above there's been no indication when Sky might consider closing down their Sky+ HD platform.

The letter from Sky is extremely poorly worded, and ' we're upgrading you to a Sky Q TV box ' is simply bogus.
