It's up to you, of course, but you might want to consider holding fire for a little longer if it means your mother having to get used to new technology etc.

To follow it up, we do really need to know exactly what the on screen error message says.
It would also help to know the Sky box's Model Number and Version Number, which can be found by pressing Services > Settings > Details.

I thought you weren't a Sky Employee. And why should these details matter if the support is no longer available?
Forget it, we've been through it with at least 3 Sky employees and we're fed up. The last human we spoke to tried to get a signal sent to the card and then reluctantly said we should cancel. We did. Then changed our minds, but we're now speaking to BT. It's been a learning exercise and one I didn't wish to repeat.

We are not Sky employees! We can talk directly to Sky in a private forum, the information requested is important as it will explain if your response from Sky is correct or not

I'm pleased for you. However, if you've still got an HD+ box and viewing card and have anything go wrong, that's the time you find out they are unable to help.
I guess if you've upgraded, then everything is ok....

I have Sky+HD, If I have any issues I'll be phoning Sky
I'll not be moving to another Sky service unless forced to do so

I am sorry to see that you have decided to cancel.
You are correct we are moving away from supporting the Sky+ service, so any repairs or replacements aren't possible. Thanks,

That is correct if the hardware (Box/Dish/Wires etc...) is at fault, but if it's just a viewing card issue then Sky can and will send a replacement if required

I'm sorry, but that's not what I've been told, as you can see from my previous comments, at least 3 times by different people. However, it doesn't matter now as we've cancelled.
