When I start to record a programme I lose satellite signal and there fore I can not watch TV whilst the programme is been recorded.

Assuming you have two cables from your satellite dish, check that both are still properly connected at the back of your Sky box. If all looks OK, restart the box by switching off at the plug for 4 minutes. If it's still unresolved, give Sky a call to book am engineer.
