Loss of BBC tv channels on Sky + HD box

Hi.
When a message started to appear on BBC channels through our Sky box, I bought a secondhand Sky + HD box to try to ensure that we didn't lose the BBC channels when they ceased SD broadcasting. I have updated the software and all Freeview channels work apart from BBC.
I believe the old viewing card needs to be paired with the replacement HD box, but keep getting stuck in an endless loop with the online help which is trying to encourage me to  purchase Sky Q which I can't afford.
can anyone help me please?

Thanks.

You may be snookered, then, I'm afraid. Have you had a look at channel 141 or those in the 950 range for a BBC1 HD variant?

@TigsnKit if your Sky box is connected to your broadband service, carrying out a New Install, in the engineers menu, will pair your Viewing Card.

@Mark39 Thanks for the response. Just a dish connection I'm afraid. No broadband connection.

Are you seeing the 'you need to upgrade' message?

@Mark39 No, just the screen from the BBC informing that the service has now closed as my equipment only supports SD, which it doesn't, so it all points to the card not being associated with the new HD box.

You may be able to pair your Viewing Card online per the help guide here: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-viewing-card-help-activate-plus

@Mark39 This is the endless loop that I was stuck in. The advice isn't compatible with the new App version.

Glad to help. If you haven't already, it would be worth you setting up a favourites list, so that BBC1 is on favourite 1, perhaps, rather than some obscure number

Is there a reason why you haven't connected you Sky+ HD box to the internet?

AFAIK you can't alter the list of favourite channels, so anything from the 950's would always be at the bottom of the list.
