Losing channels/poor signal Sky+HD

Hello, I live in an apartment block and no one else is having issues so must be my connection or box.

For a while now channels have been disappearing or pixelating when previously they have been fine to view. On a couple of channels and radio channels they seem to cut out and lose signal at pretty much the same time in the morning every day.

Is it the box or cables that need replacing? I don't need a SkyQ box, the HD+ one has always been fine though it is at least 10 years old.

If you think it might be the cables, any recommendations as to what to replace them with?

  • Many thanks!

Please Note: Sky+ is now a legacy service that Sky are replacing with their newer services: Sky Q (all issues will be fixed during a Sky Q install), Sky Glass and Sky Stream

If you have a communal dish then your buildings management are the people to report this to

Impossible to say, to be honest. If you have cables connecting your Sky box to a wall socket, you can replace them cheaply to see if they're the cause: an example here. They're available from hardware stores and online. Other lengths are available.

  • Thanks for replying. Unfortunately the building management company will not investigate as no one else has an issue and it is too expensive. I'm the leaseholder too so can't even persue through a landlord.

Do you pay a management fee to the management company?

You yearly statement should report what the fee covers😉
