LG TV TO SKY + box any help

I have a new LG UR81006LJ I am trying to connect my sky + box via a hdmi cable from another room using a magic eye but I cannot get anything on the TV from the sky box

Do you mean a coax cable rather than an HDMI cable? A couple of possibilities:

1. you may need to specify the TV's analogue tuner when you scan for channels (with the Sky box active)

2. new TVs don't tune above channel 60 (in some cases 50) and your Sky box's default RF Output Channel is channel 68, so your TV will never see it. If so you'll need to change the RF Output Channel to below channel 60 or 50, if appropriate.
