If you have Sky+ then you won't get an engineer.

Sky+ is an obsolete system which Sky no longer support.

Can you check the front of your box? Is it black? Does it have a blue Q on the front of it when turned on? If it does then you have Sky Q, not Sky+.

Because the engineer left after connecting the bedroom tv but did not test it and I did not need to use it until now as the nights are getting darker I wanted to use it

It's extremely unlikely to be Sky+ as a new television installation, unless you are in a block of flats or similar location with a communal satellite dish.

There is still a Sky Essential Plus broadband, which is a now rather antique ADSL : that's a product name name unrelated to the television system.

(and also Ultrafast Plus which is 500Mbs FTTP)

Sky Glass 55" (on ethernet) & two Stream Pucks (one ethernet / one WiFi)
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

There's no such thing as Sky plus broadband.

I'm assuming you have Sky Q and the box in the bedroom is a Mini box. Does any of that ring a bell?

What's happening with the box in the bedroom? Is there a red or amber standby light? Does it go green when you switch it on? In what way does it not work?

Re: I need someone to come out and set up my tv to work with sky

All sorted now. Managed to get a telephone number to speak to an actual person. It was the remote it had not been pared to the tv hence the screen was frozen and I could not select any programs. Speaking to someone who guided me through what I needed to do was what I needed. Thanks for everyone trying to help.
