Your post is a little difficult to understand as you have posted about what the issue is in the topic title rather than in the bigger box so can you reply and let us know what channels on your Sky+ box you are having issues with and what onscreen message do you see ?

Re: I keep getting a message on one of my sky boxes that says I need an upgrade but the channels wo

I have the full SKY package (excl Cinema) incl the HD package and last week I lost Sports, Documentaries HD and most other SKY HD  channels, I can get BBC HD, Channel 4HD, GB News etc, also got the message saying I need to upgrade my package.

Contacted SKY who done some checks and said all was in order and suggested the fault was with the box and spoke about upgrading to SKY Q which I didn't really want.

They then tought that since I was getting other channels it may be a viewing card and sent a new one, hey presto once inserted all channels came back as normal.

However two days later the same issue has returned, have tried reboots, reinserting card etc without success.

Strangely I can get BT/TNT Sports via the box without a problem.

Any help appreciated before I have to switch to a Q Box..

.

Rumours abound this is a SKY ploy to create the fault to make you switch over to Q !!!!!!!!

Such rumours are tosh. It doesn't sound like a box fault to me, rather an issue with the entitlements held on your Viewing Card. Unfortunately the only way to resolve it would be to speak to Sky who will be able to refresh your Card.

Thanks for the reply.

You reckon even with the new card which is a few days old and the fact it worked initially for a couple of  days it's still possibly a card issue ?

If so do you have a contact number for a UK agent since when I've called them about the issue I speak with someone in Mumbai who as much as there nice and polite there is sometimes a language problem and they are also reading from a screen script and invariably have to put you on hold to speak with their supervisor.

Better if I can talk direct with a UK agent/tech person.

Thay would be my guess, given other similar reports. Not a Card issue per se, but a mismatch of what the Card allows you to do and the entitlements you have from your subscription.

I'm afraid there's no contact number that will connect you to a UK based adviser.  All calls are handled by the same system and are routed to the next available adviser wherever they're based.
