I have sky+ and can’t get some channels
I can't get some channels on my Sky+, mainly the BBC & ITV ones but also channel 5 & MTV, I have tried the restart box option and it worked at first but not now. I can still download from the channels I can't get on the catch up tv but can't watch live, all the other channels are fine, is there anything I can try to correct this ?

What error messages, if any, are you getting when you tune to ITV?

Re: I have sky+ and can’t get some channels
It says "there is a technical fault with this channel " and if I go to BBC the message says "your Sky+HD box isn't getting a satellite signal " I wouldn't have any other channels if I wasn't getting a signal would I ?

Re: I have sky+ and can’t get some channels
"No Satellite Signal" is an error generated by your Sky box, it has nothing to do with broadband (Internet connectivity) and usually indicates an issue with one or more of the following:
• The Tuners in the sky box
• The input sockets on the Sky box
• The plugs on the cables
• The cables themselves
• The Sockets on the dishes LNB
• The dishes LNB has gone faulty for the connections the box is using
• You have plugged your Sky+ box into a dish that is only compatible with Sky Q
You may have to call out a local satellite installer, unless you already have Sky Protect insurance, to check/fix your system, another option is to move to Sky Q, as during the move all issues will be resolved as part of the install, there is also the option of Sky Glass or Sky Stream, if you want to move away from satellite TV and use the Internet

Re: I have sky+ and can’t get some channels
I can't move to sky Q as I am in an apartment and when I asked the owners they wouldn't allow access to the dish so is the only way to call out a satellite engineer ?

If it's your own dish, yes.
If you 're connected to a communal dish, speak to your landlord or their managing agents.

Thank you for your replies, really appreciate them. I have booked an independent satellite engineer to come and look at it on Friday

Do you have Sky+ box or a Sky+ HD box?
