How to get on demand on a old Sky+HD box

I know sky + is a legacy service now but I found a old sky+hd box in the loft which would be great for the garden room as the sky q mini box doesn't reach to the garden room. Is there any way I can get on demand on that sky+HD box at all?

A standard Sky Q dish is incompatible with non-Sky Q boxes !!!

It would be easier to extend the range of your WiFi

I have a satellite with a hybrid LNB and I have tested the sky+HD box and it works with live tv but I was just wondering if I can get on demand or sky sports on it. I have tried WiFi extender and it does extend the WiFi but the mini boxes connect to the WiFi and to the main box and it is too far away from the main box

@Phoenix2048 I suspect, neither. You would need a Sky+ subscription both for Sports and to be able to record/playback (for On Demand). Sky don't allow both Sky+ and Sky Q subscriptions together - it's one or the other.

@Phoenix2048

Not going to work for several reasons: the Sky+ isn't going to be covered by a subscription, it needs a coaxial cable connection to the dish out there, and on-demand requires internet access by definition.

Also, Sky+ cannot access the vast majority of content distributed through Sports+

Note that if you do have a coaxial cable dish feed to the garden room it might be possible to use that for data transfer to the Mini box.

Your mini should work if it is connected to the same router as the main box, you'll still need broadband to the Sky Plus box thus I still think it is better to get the mini working

Put a WiFi extender in the room nearest where the mini is to go and/or get some external Ethernet to the mini
