How do I remove the Sky remote control so it doesnt turn the tv on or off

I have a Samsung 49 inch tv that was connected to my Sky + HD box. I want to sell the tv but it was setup to turn the tv on and off plus alter the volume with the generation 9 remote control. I want to sell the tv with just the original Samsung remote control.

So how can I remove the Sky remote from the TV so it reverts all control back to the Samsung remote control. Ta

The TVs own remote will work without doing anything as Skys remote is optional and does not replace the TVs

I confirm that the Samsung remote control does not Power on/off  the TV.

The only way to turn on/off the TV is by using the Sky + remote control which is what I want to remove.

Then I think your TVs remote may be broken 😞

There is no procedure to do this as the remote does nothing to the TV, all the Sky remote does is emulate the LED codes your TV uses, the same codes the TV remote sends

I can use my Sky remote and TVs remote at the same time, this has always been the way since day one

@Milnaman I agree with @Annie+UK . All the features of your Samsung remote should work normally even when your Sky remote is programmed to also control its on/off and volume functions.

@Annie+UK @Mark39   Thanks guys for your feedback. I stripped the Samsung remote control and cleaned the pcb and buttons out. Power switch now working ok. Many thanks for your input- really appreciated.
