Sky+HD boxes can have hard disk problems just as Sky Q boxes can. They both have hard disks. Arguably it's more likely, in fact, as even the most recent Sky+HD box is at least 8 years old.

You can buy a second hand Sky+HD box from eBay or Facebook Market place and pair the card to the new box.
Either a DRX895WL (2tb or 1tb) or a DRX890WL (1tb or 500gb), they are the newest of the HD boxes and have wifi support.

You may have been misled by a web search: Q is now in use by the vast majority of Sky satellite customers, and so results will tend to reflect this and won't necessarily return references to older systems.
Sky+ boxes first had hard drives over two decades ago, starting with a 40Gb model in 2001.
