Sky don't repair boxes on a callout. It would be far too time-consuming.

If the two TVs were connected via the RF out socket on your old box, you'll still need an IO Link. Note that an IO Link is designed to work with one directly connected TV, but as you're not using magic eyes, it may be ok with two.

Oh for the days when one's local electrical shop could actually repair things.  Ours closed a few years ago when he retired.  His Son had his own CCTV and Alarm company so not interested in taking it over.

I doubt they would be able to compete, I'm afraid. For example, you can buy a used Sky box (there are no new Sky+ boxes) from ebay etc for around £30. A repair taking a not unreasonable 2 hours to complete would doubtless cost more than that, if the repairer was making a living from the work.

I ll try once more if not will just cancel my DDR when my contract runs out and will revert to Freeview, getting to talk to a human is impossible nowadays, noone at Sky  cares anymore

Your contract does not 'run out': a discounted minimum period may come to an end, but the contract continues.  Cancelling a direct debit causes your account to fall into deficit, and Sky will continue to charge each monthly amount against it: ultimately they can choose to persue this debt (plus costs) in a civil court.  At a minimum you need to give notice of any intent to cancel in order to prevent this from happening.
