Failed Rec: Technical fault - 10 (28) I am not the 1st

There are several posts mentioning this problem Failed Rec: Technical fault - 10 (28),  The superusers send you to a help page where you are instructed to"Please type the on screen message exactly as you read it" I have done this with no result. Does anyone know what this problem is and how to resolve it?

Try a Planner rebuild:

For Sky Plus HD boxes (DRX890/DRX895) with the latest software try the following instructions:
• Press SERVICES on your Sky remote control
• Go to Help
• Select Sky+ Rebuild
• Press SELECT (this will start the rebuild)

If the above does not work try the following (Note: the first 5 steps are better done whilst looking at the remote control as the feedback on screen can be confusing):
• Press SERVICES on your Sky remote control
• Press 0 (very old boxes may need you to press 4 instead)
• Press 0
• Press 1
• Press SELECT (You should now be in the hidden menu)
• Press 7 (Sky+ Rebuild)
• Press SELECT (An on-screen message will be displayed)
• Press SELECT (this will start the rebuild)

The above and so much more can be found in my Sky Plus F⋅A⋅Q

Re: Failed Rec: Technical fault - 10 (28) I am not the 1st

I m having dreadful problems with Sky+ recording both live and Catchup. So myengineer friend tells me Sky are deliberately causing issues because they want you to switch to Skyq.  Theyre not remotely interested in loyalty etc. Just give us £100 to switch you to Skyq. You will lose all your precious recordings on Sky+  no engineer will help

This was confirmed by the Sky agent I spoke to today

Helpful but admitted sky are desperate to get rid of all customers on Sky+ boxes and move them to Skyq. Then they will up the monthly cost OR limit what your package  provides

Up to you really but no wonder people go onto the numerous schemes to filter sky sports etc.
