@Topper99  You can't extract recordings from Sky+ to Sky Q, both use different encryption.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

@Topper99 from memory, and if it's still available, I believe there's third party software that will enable you to extract recordings from the free to air channels, as they're not encrypted. On an official Sky forum, I'm not sure it's a subject that can be discussed in any detail beyond that.

Re: Extracting Recordings from an Old Sky+ Box

I don't want to extract/download and transfer from my Sky+ to my Sky Q I want to put the Sky+ recordings onto a USB or any other viable device to view

SCART to a DVD Recorder then record in real time to DVD

Sky support for Sky+HD and earlier systems has ended, you can still get support if you already have Sky Protect insurance otherwise you'll have to find your own 3rd party company to get support from at your own expense

Re: Extracting Recordings from an Old Sky+ Box

Thank you, regarding the Sky viewing card currently in my Sky Q box do I take that out and put it in my Sky + box to make that "live" and able to view the Planner ?

That does mean removing the hard disk to extract them, I'm afraid. Other than via the Sky box menus I don't know of any other way to get to the recordings.

Re: Extracting Recordings from an Old Sky+ Box

Thank you, so what is the process of removing the hard drive and then connecting to what device to download/transfer to view ?

the best outcome I am looking for is to USB

Ah, that makes a big difference, I'd not move the viewing cardsabout if it was me

I don't think the viewing card will recognise the sky + box so as you say extract via the hard drive to a relevant device to then save and view

It is not exactly 100% legal to do what you want, so the Sky official forum is not the best place to be asking 😞
